ronrocos Paco del Mar

My name is Paco del Mar and I was born in Argentina in 1959. I came into contact with a wide variety of woods and their processing as a small child in my father’s carpentry workshop. I started learning to play the guitar at the age of 9… initially with lessons with José Luis Barengo and later self-taught.

In 1973 I came to Germany with my parents and attended secondary school in Emmendingen, followed by technical high school and studying graphic design at the Freiburg Graphic School, graduating in 1989.

I built my first Charango in 1979 while I was in secondary school. This was followed by further instruments in a variety of designs and materials, including some with a GRP body.

Since 2016 I have been building artistic instruments: Ronrocos, Charangos guitars and also Bombos legüeros…
